PORTER, Helen Jane, Age 88 of Port Williams, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 5, 1927 Helen was the daughter of the late Russell Jess and Anne (Ross) (Harrington). Helen is survived by sons Eric; David (Evie); Michael (Elaine); daughters Linda (Owen Jordan); Marilyn; sister Jean Anderson; sisters-in-law Geraldine Hickey; Eileen (Ron Trevors); brother-in-law Lorimer (Barbara Ann); grandchildren Carrie (Ray Doyle); Erika (Shawn Richards); Heather (Leonard Boucher); Edward Jordan (Jean); Cheryl (Colin Pilipchuk); Lucas, Sydney (Cory Stewart); Morgan; six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Frank (2015); brothers Malcolm, Edwin, Walter (in infancy); grandchildren Rebecca and Jason Jordan, and daughter-in-law-Madeline. Helen worked alongside her husband Frank on the family farm. She was a life-time Member of the Kentville Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and served many years on the Ladies Auxiliary. She will be forever missed by her family and friends. A Visitation will be Monday, October 12, 2015 2-4p.m., and 7-9p.m. in the Coldbrook Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 2p.m. in the Kentville United Baptist Church, Rev. Mark Parent and Rev. Dave Bielby officiating. Burial at the Elm Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Valley Regional Hospice Foundation.
