THOMPSON, William Hibbert “Billy”, Avonport, passed away at the Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville on October 13, 2015. Born on April 5, 1939 he was a son of Muriel Guptill (Avonport) and the late George Thompson. Survived by son, Timothy Thompson (Fort McMurray); daughter, Wanda Thompson (Matt) (Edmonton); step-children Shawna and Troy; brother, Bubba (Muriel), Avonport; beloved partner and care taker Marie Hancock (New Minas); many nieces and nephews. Billy left the valley for 43 years to experience the wilderness of the West. While there he was employed in British Columbia by Adams River Lumber Mill. Billy loved the outdoors – hunting, fishing. His greatest love was that of music, and good times with friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the Avonport Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 2:00p.m., Rev. Wayne Fevens and Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Reception to follow in church vestry. Interment in the Lower Horton Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Avonport Baptist Church or the Evergreen Home For Special Care.
