It is with great sadness that the family of Joyce Alberta (Pineo) Rockwell, age 87, announce her passing on October 20, 2015 at Grand View Manor, Berwick surrounded by her family. Joyce was born on August 19, 1928 to Austin Gilbert Pineo and Mabel (Langille) (Pineo) Forward. She lived and worked most of her life in the Annapolis Valley with a few years in Sept. Isles Quebec. She was a very religious lady having belonged to several churches including one in Quebec. One of her biggest loves was her family and her love of singing. She will always be known for her donuts which she made every week. Joyce is survived by her daughters Teresa (Larry) Ogilvie, Centreville; Karlene (Randy) Pynch, North Alton; a son, Rufus (Paulette) Rockwell, Cambridge, grandchildren Sharlene, Gisele and Tom Lessard; Michael and Stephen Ogilvie; Stacey (Pynch) Blackburn and Chad Pynch; Andrea Rockwell; Jennifer Johnson and Mindy Bennett O'Connor; several great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and son-in-law Clarence Weatherbee, Wolfville. Predeceased by husband Karl Rockwell; daughter, Veneda Weatherbee; brother, Lester Sonny Pineo and sister, Doris Clarke, half-brothers, Clark, Reginald and George Pineo; half-sisters, Hilda, Hazel, Madeline and Myra; granddaughter Jocelyn Pynch. Joyce was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 2p.m. at the Berwick Funeral Chapel, Rev Sarah Scott officiating; reception to follow.
