LOCKHART, Russell Chesley (Dartmouth) age 53
The death of Russell Lockhart occurred on Nov 19th at the QEII Palliative Care Unit in Halifax. For the past eight years he had suffered from esophageal Cancer. He was the son of Chesley W. and Doris (Russell) Lockhart, born in PEI but moved as a child with his family to Dartmouth where he has since lived.
A graduate of Prince Andrew High School and Dartmouth Regional Vocational school in electronics, he became employed in electronic technology and then as a services support person at the Stanfield International Airport and the Halifax School Board.
With a quiet but inquiring character he respected and enjoyed nature, taking advantage of the local trails, libraries and interested in environmental and community issues. He will be greatly missed by his surviving family members: Mother Doris Lockhart, Dartmouth, Sister Linda Vatcher, Chezzetcook, Uncles Stewart Russell, Truro and Robert (Verna) Benjamin, Dartmouth, Aunt Marina (Keith) Russell, Amherst, many cousins and his beloved cat Lily.
Russell was predeceased by his father, Chesley W. Lockhart, an infant sister and several Aunts and Uncles.
A Funeral service will be held at Woodlawn United Church in Dartmouth on Sunday, Nov 22nd at 2pm followed by a reception in the Church Hall.
