John Beverly Veinott 88, of Centre Burlington, the eldest son of Frederick Charles Veinott and Helen (Smart) passed away on December 5, 2015. Aside from his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 56 years Eileen (Brown), and siblings Nancy, Robert, Earl, and Fred. He is survived by a son Mitchell (Sheila), daughter Cheryl (David Harvey), grandson Clinton Harvey (Amy), granddaughter Jemma (Ian Johnson), great grandchildren Camden, Neva ,Zoe and Lennon, and special friend Vivienne Riley. John was born and grew up in the Annapolis Valley and moved to St. John New Brunswick prior to the end of World War II where he met his wife. They resided there as he worked for the city of St. John Hydro for twelve years. Upon returning to Nova Scotia he worked as a carpenter while also operating a busy small farm. He worked for a number of years prior to retirement on the maintenance staff of the Hants Community Hospital. Over the years wood working, motorcycles, CB and amateur radio, were among his many passions. In recent years people would have seen John with Vivienne at community dinners all over the valley and beyond. A special thank you to all the folks at the Forties Community Centre. His was a life well lived and we will miss him dearly but hold him in our hearts forever. VE1 JBV will be off the air. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home and Chapels. A celebration of his life where all are welcome has been planned for Sunday December 20 from 2pm - 4 pm at the Centre Burlington Hall, 3554 Highway 215.
