Obituary of Alberta Mary Schofield
Please share a memory of Alberta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Schofield, Alberta Mary of Kentville - 73 - it is with great sadness that the family of Alberta announce that she has passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at home after a long battle with many illnesses but cancer being the one that claimed her. Alberta was born on February 26, 1942. She was the oldest daughter of the late Dorothy and Lionel Rhynard of Kentville.
Alberta worked for many years on the housekeeping staff at both the Kentville Sanatorium and the Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital. When not working you could find her in the yard where she took great pride in keeping it well maintained. No weeds stood a chance.
Alberta will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years Harold Schofield (Jr) Kentville, her daughter Brenda (Gary) Kentville. She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren; Melissa (Rick) Veinot of Kentville, Ashley Allen of Kentville and Mitchell Allen in Toronto. Four great grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Jack and Lucas and Ellie. Her brothers; Charles (Vina) Gee of Kentville, Charleton (Jacqueline) Rhynard of Coldbrook and William “Billy” (Liz) Kentville. Sisters; Belle (John) Barkhouse of Steam Mill, Elizabeth “Liz” (Rick) Kozlowski of White Rock, and Lucille “Lucy” (David) Connors of Kentville. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Joseph Gee (Marion of Centreville) Alberta also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
POEM:
We are sad within our memory. Lonely are our hearts today, for the one we loved so dearly has forever been called away. We think of her in silence, no eye may see us weep, but many silent tears are shed when others are asleep.
In honor of Alberta's wishes cremation has taken place. No service at this time by request of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care or charity of ones choice.
