Obituary of John MacKenzie Stewart

Stewart, John Mackenzie passed away peacefully in Windsor Elms Village on February 1, 2016 at the age of 94. Most recently of Kentville, Born in Lossiemouth, Scotland in 1921 to Alex and Robina Stewart. Immigrated to Canada in 1926. Predeceased by his parents and his brother Alex "Sandy" Stewart. He is survived by wife Myrtle; son Donald and daughter in-law Kim. John "Jack" served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the second World War as a radio operator escorting merchant ships across the North Atlantic. He then went on to work as a radio operator and Flight Dispatcher to TransCanada Airline/Air Canada until retirement in 1978. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Windsor Elms Village who attended to him. At his request there will be no funeral. Interment to take place at a later date. Donations can be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Charily of Choice. A true Scottish gentleman, he sadly will be missed.
