Obituary of Maureen Shirley Carty

CARTY, (Webber) Maureen Shirley, age 86, of Kingsport passed away peacefully on February 25th in Valley Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Maureen was the daughter of the late Harris and Mable (Horne) Webber. She was predeceased by her husband Reynolds and brother Earl. She will be sadly missed by her children Mariann (Kentville), Donna (Randy), Medford and Timothy (Anne).Metegan, grandchildren; Gregory (Kim), Mark Amanda (Matt), Joe (Lynn), Nick (Amellya), Jessica, Ashley, Cassie Kyle (Cassie), Calvin (Alex), 5 great grandchildren; Lily, Easton, Alexandra, Jack and Vivian, her sister and "Partner in Crime" Bernice Mahar and sister in law Carrie Carty (Meaford ON). Maureen was a member of the Emmanuel United Church Kingsport, United Church Women Kingsport and Hilltoppers. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, camping, dancing and spending time with friends and family at the cottage. The family would like to thank the staff at Valley Regional Hospital and Dr. Sinclair. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Coldbrook Funeral Chapel. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation, the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or the Emmanuel United Church of Kingsport. Maureen’s wishes of no visitation or service will be honored. “When you were born you cried and the world rejoiced; live your life so that when you die the world cries and you rejoice”. When I come to the end of the road, And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in gloom-filled rooms, Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little--but not too long, And not with your head bowed low; Remember the love that we once shared Miss me--but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take, And each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan, A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, Go to the friends we know, And busy your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me - but let me go.
