Obituary of Donald Eric Kendall

Donald Eric Kendall - 70, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, NS. Born on April 4, 1945, in Halifax, NS, he was son of the late Mac and Maud Kendall. He was born and raised in Halifax, NS where he attended Queen Elizabeth High School. Later he attended the Halifax County Vocational School where he received certificates in Welding, as well as Plumbing and Pipefitting. Don enjoyed music, camping, and a lifelong passion for acting, participating in community theatre groups in Shelburne, N.S., and Berwick, N.S. In recent years he volunteered at the Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre in Waterville, N.S. He is survived by his children: Scott Kendall, Joanne Kendall, Dohn (Jennifer) Kendall, Sharon (Alan) Clem, and James Kendall, as well as five beautiful grandchildren, his steadfast and supportive siblings: Ruby (Paul) LaCroix, and Sharon (Arthur) Hodder, of Halifax, Jim (Lillian) Ford of Hammonds Plains, Doreen White (Charlie Purdy) of Sackville, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving brother, Gerald (Helen) Kendall, of Alberta, and loving sister, Carol Marie (Vern) Silver of Ellershouse, N.S. Don’s siblings extend their gratitude to the nurses and medical team at Valley Regional Hospital, namely Dr. Klippenstein and Dr. Davidson for the care provided to their brother. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Berwick Funeral Chapel, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, NS (902-538-9900). A small service will take place at 2 pm, Thursday, March 24, 2016. The family asks that any donations in Don’s memory be made to the Berwick Food Bank.
