Daisy May Forsythe (MacBurnie), 83, Port Williams, passed away April 1, 2016 in the Wolfville Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Bertrum and Alderada (Margeson) MacBurnie of Poplar Grove, NS.
She is survived by her two daughters Fay George (Pam Griffiths) Digby and Elaine (Michael) Porter, Port Williams, stepson Ronald (Georgina) Forsythe, Oliver, BC, step daughters Donna (David) Schofield, Greenwich, Kathy (Fred) Walker, Mount Uniacke, grandchildren, Elise (Matthew), Lucas, Sydney (Cory), Morgan, five step grandchildren and one great granddaughter Avery. She is also survived by her brother Gerald Mac Burnie, sisters in law Marjorie MacDow, Dartmouth and Geraldine Thorpe, Port Williams and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her first husband Reginald MacDow and second husband Roy Forsythe, brothers, Raymond, Wilfred, Douglas, Clyde and sisters Florence and Idella.
Daisy was a loving mother and took great pride in her family. She was a faithful and dedicated member of her community. She was a member of the Port Williams Baptist Church and served on the Board of Deacons and in the Choir and also served on the Womens' Missionary Group, Loyal Workers, Port Williams Health Auxillary and The Womens' Institute.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Wolfville Funeral Chapel, 568 Main Street, Wolfville (902-542-4656) where a visitation will take place on Monday, April 4th from 7-9pm. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 5th at 2:00pm in the Port Williams United Baptist Church. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Port Williams Baptist Church.
