Lowell Thomas Spencer, 80 of Blomindon, NS passed away June 13, 2016 in the Valley Regional Hospital. He was born August 30, 1935 in Glace Bay, NS to the late Melford and Cassie (MacKenzie) Spencer. Lowell was a very loving husband and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching hockey and baseball and spending time with his friends. He worked 30 years as a bank manager for the CIBC bank then went to work for Urqhart MacDonald & Associates for over 20 years. He was well respected in the community and in his work. He is survived by his wife of 15 years Effie (Benedict) Spencer, son Douglas of Ontario, daughters Cathy (Paul) and Betty (Tim) of Springhill, a granddaughter, a grandson, step-children Randy of Alberta, Patsy (Dominique) of Quebec, Krista (Jim) of Ontario, Shelley (John) of Belmont, NS, Brenda of Alberta, Tanya (Ian) of Digby, NS, 10 step-grandchildren, brother William "Billy" of Alberta, sister Anna (Cornelius) of New Brunswick and niece Cindy-Lou of Alberta. Lowell was predeceased by his brother Roy and nephew Melford. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Coldbrook Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr (902-679-2822). A Memorial Service will be held on June 17th, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Pereau United Baptist Church. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Pereau United Baptist Church, Belmont Cemetery or Canadian Cancer Society.
