Obituary of Janice Thelma Longmire

In Loving Memory Janice Thelma (Pinch) Longmire Feb 18, 1938 – Jun 23, 2016 It is with immense sadness that the family of Janice Thelma Longmire, 78 of Bedford, NS announce her passing on June 23, 2016 in Halifax. Born and raised in South Waterville, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Regencenzina (Terrasie) Pinch. Janice attended Central Kings Rural High School. She enjoyed careers at The Royal Bank, Nova Scotia Power Commission, graduated from School of Cosmetology and ran her own business. She also received a Diploma in Interior Design at Mount Saint Vincent University. Janice will be greatly missed by husband of 56 years, James (Bedford), Daughters Lise Longmire and Gina (Longmire) Bowen, Brothers Dr. Franklin (Judith), Kingston, Ont, Maynard (Jaye), Hamilton, Ont., Leo Berwick, and Sister Vilma (Neil) Tupper, Aylesford, two doting grandchildren Matthew and Lindsay Duggan and many loving nieces and nephews. Janice was predeceased by sisters M. Phyllis Keddy and Cloris (in infancy). Janice was beautiful on the inside and out. She was always there to lend an ear, and was known for her selflessness and generosity. Janice derived her greatest pleasure from being with family and friends, helping others, preparing delicious meals to share, and singing and dancing brought her such joy. Building and maintaining relationships was a major part of Janice's life. She took great pride in her home and was always a gracious host. Janice was also very passionate about politics, especially at provincial level, and volunteered her services during elections. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, Berwick Chapel, 192 Commercial Street Berwick (902-538-9900). A Celebration of her Life will be held on July 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Berwick Chapel with reception to follow. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Family Flowers only.
