Joan Frances Currie (Graham) of Canning, NS passed away peacefully on August 9, 2016. She was born June 9, 1934 in Newton Mills at her cherished family farm. She was the daughter of the late Allan and Annabelle (Kindervater) Graham. Joan enjoyed a long career with the Federal Government. She was an active community service volunteer and had a lifetime passion of helping others. She was dedicated to many charities including the Canning food bank, the Lion's organization, Crime Stoppers and the Cancer Society. Joan treasured her family, friends and her dogs. In her earlier years she actively enjoyed camping and playing softball. Later, bowling, bingo and her coffee outings with Harry. She is survived and sadly missed by her sons Allan (Janice) and Brian (Donna), daughter Karen (Peter), granddaughter Victoria, great-granddaughter Lily and brother Victor. Joan was predeceased by her husband Harry and brother George. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902-679-2822). By Joan's request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Upper Stewiacke.
