Louise "May" Cyr RN, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Friend, of Kingston. Mother passed away August 27, 2016 in Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Brantford, Ontario June 25, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Orval and Beatrice (Pash) Burke. May was a Registered Nurse by profession completing her Nursing education at St. Rita School of Nursing in Sydney, Cape Breton in 1974. Mom was a skilled seamstress and a talented crafts person. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Lorna (Kim) Rawding; son Tim; one grandchild; four great grandchildren. Besides her parents, May was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Roger; grandson, Jeff; infant brother, Esmond. Our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Dr. Heisler and the VON staff for the care of their mother over the past four years. A special thank you to her friends and home care workers for all their support. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr (902-679-2822). In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Interment will be at a later date. Memorial donations in May's memory may be made to the VON Annapolis Valley or to a charity of your choice. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal"
