Marion Ellen Parr, 89 of Avonport, NS passed away September 16, 2016 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Bramber, Hants County, Marion was the daughter of the late Bertram and Abbie (Smith) Lantz. Marion was a member of the Avonport Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and some of her passions were gardening and bird watching but mostly she loved her large family and enjoyed the time they spent with her. Marion is survived by five sons Rodney (Margaret) of Kentville, NS; Kenneth (Sandra) of Lockhartville, NS; David (Valerie) of Edmonton, AB; John (Cheri) of Sherwood Park, AB; Donald (Cindy) of Avonport, NS; daughters Barbara (Kenneth) Pick of Port Williams, NS; Beverly Nott of Coldbrook, NS; Linda (William) Jodrey of Port Williams, NS; Mary Maxwell of Upper Tantallon, NS; Marilyn (Delmer) Palmer of Sherwood Park, AB; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; sisters Myrtle; twin Grace and Ruth. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert; brothers Raymond, Alston, Archie and Embert; sisters Alice, Minnie, Christena and Viola. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, Wolfville Chapel, 568 Main Street Wolfville (902-542-4656). A visitation will take place on September 19, 2016 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on September 20, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Avonport Baptist Church. Reception will be held in the Church Hall located in the lower level. Interment to follow in the Lower Horton Cemetery in Hortonville. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Heart & Stroke Foundation and Avonport Baptist Church.
