Anne Lalia Gates of Annapolis Royal, NS passed away in the Valley Regional Hospital on September 23, 2016. Born in Plympton, she was the daughter of the late David and Eva (O'Neil) Tibbetts. For many years Anne was a resident of Port Williams where she worked for Canada Packers Inc. and was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club. She was also a long standing parishioner of the Port Williams Baptist Church and the Loyal Workers Club. For the past several years, she had been a resident of the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home. Anne is survived by her daughter Barbara Jean Butterworth of Montreal, QC; son Wayne Stark of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren; great grandchildren; sister in law Juanita Tibbetts and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Louis Stark, second husband Laurence Gates; brothers Bernard, Edward, John and George; sisters Margaret, Alice, Kathleen, Frances and Emma; grandchildren Gayle (Canlin) Butterworth and Terry Butterworth. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, Wolfville Chapel, 568 Main Street Wolfville (902-542-4656). By family request, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held on September 30, 2016 at 2:00 in the Wolfville Chapel with interment in the Willowbank Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Port Williams United Baptist Church.
