Obituary of Frederick "Neil" Cornelius Van Nostrand

Please share a memory of Frederick "Neil" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frederick "Neil" Cornelius VanNostrand, 86 of Wolfville passed away in his home on October 3, 2016. As a Wildlife Biologist, he moved to Nova Scotia with his spouse S. McIntyre and they had five children; Robert, Stuart (died at age 10), Steve, Donald and Peggy. After retiring from the Dept. of Lands and Forest, Neil and his present spouse Erica Garrett farmed for several years and then retired to Wolfville. Neil loved the outdoors and nature; this ruled his life. Always kind and generous; he certainly marched to his own drummer; hopefully he inspired his children, spouse, step daughter Stephanie and all the grandchildren to do the same. He will be missed by many. During Neil's illness, our family, friends and community were quite wonderful. Forever grateful. A special thanks to Peggy Salsman (my step daughter) who's constant kindness and wisdom never stopped. She took special care of Neil, me and our dog Tippy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, Wolfville Chapel, 568 Main Street Wolfville (902-542-4656). A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday October 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Gaspereau Cemetery. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Charity of One's Choice.
