VILLENEUVE, Marion, 82, Halifax It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Marion Villeneuve (nee Sullivan) on October 11, 2016 after a short, valiant battle with cancer. Marion passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Born in Halifax on September 7, 1934, she was the daughter of Delia and James Sullivan. She was educated and raised in Halifax and spent many years working in various jobs including the United Cigar Store, The Chowder Bowl Restaurant and the Hydrostone Dry Cleaners. Marion lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed many activities including playing darts, cards, shopping and dancing at the Stadccona Mess. She was a former member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Chartable Irish. Marion also enjoyed travelling. She spent time with her daughter Suzanne in Dubai, cruising the Caribbean with various family members and spending summers with family in Ontario. Time spent with her family was most precious to her. Beside her parents, Marion is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Ralph. Her sisters Alice, Mary, Rita, Berandette, brothers Tim, Jim, Alan and Richard and brothers in law Howard and George Marion is survived by her sisters Delia (Nick) Denisko and Esther (George) Taylor and her children Chris (Margaret) Villeneuve of Bedford, Cynthia(Bruce) Kenchington of Toronto, Suzanne(Costas) Markou, Dubai, UAE and Diane Villeneuve of Toronto. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and two great-children. Marion will be sorely missed by many nieces, nephews and her many friends at Stadacona Mess where she and Ralph were members for many years. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr (902-679-2822). In keeping with Marion's wishes, cremation has already taken place. A celebration Mass will be held on Friday October 14, 2016 at 10:30 at Saint Benedict Parish on Raddall Drive Halifax, followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Private Family Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Family Flowers only. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the QE II Hospital in Halifax or Charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care team at the QEII, ER Doctors and VON for their wonderful care and compassion during Marion's illness. Mom is now dancing again with Dad.
