Raymond Delbert Dexter, 85 of Windsor, NS (formally of Avonport, NS) passed away peacefully on November 10, 2016 in the Hants Community Hospital. Born November 8, 1931 in Brooklyn, Queens County, he was the son of the late Evangeline Dexter (1942). Raymond was married to the late Barbara (Carey) Dexter for 59 years. He retired from the Minas Basin Pulp & Power after 43 years. He is survived by sons Wayne (Trina) of Carroll's Corner; Richard (Janet) of Lockhartville; Randall of Kentville; Paul (Celyne) of St. John, NB; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Raymond was also predeceased by his foster mother Viola Peabody and foster sister Charlotte Scott. The family would like to extend their thank you to everyone at Victoria Park Guest House and the Hants Community Hospital for their care and kindness. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, Wolfville Chapel, 568 Main Street Wolfville (902-542-4656). Visitations will take place on November 13, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on November 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Avonport Baptist Church. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the NS Canadian Diabetes Association or a Charity of One's Choice.
