With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Kathryn Anne Dickens on November 22, 2016 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 30, 1954 in Sydney, NS she was the oldest daughter of Bernice Miner and the late Roger Miner. Survived by her daughters, Ashley (Brendan) Pettipas; grandsons Cooper and Mason, Barbara Dickens; grandson, Jesse; sons, Greg (Lisa); grandchildren, Rachel and Michael; Steven; grandchildren, Jacob and Katrina; brother-in-law, Eric who became her best friend; nieces Leslie and Abby; sister, Holly Miner and her children Caitlin and David Smithers. She was predeceased by her husband, soulmate and best friend, Raymond Dickens and Brother David (in infancy). Kathy was the co-owner of Eye World and spent the majority of her career as an optician. She enjoyed spending leisure time on the golf course, at the family cottage, gardening and with her grandchildren. We have many happy memories to share of a life well lived but ended too soon. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr (902-679-2822). Funeral will be held Saturday, November 26th, 2016 at 2pm at Woodlawn United Church, 54 Woodlawn Rd., Dartmouth. Memorial donations may be made to CNIB or a charity of choice.
