Mary Ann Marie Atwell, 68 of Upper Canard, formerly of White Rock, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016. Born in Wolfville on August 29, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Eldred and Minnie (Schofield) Mosher. In her early years, she was a secretary at Acadia University and then later worked in the hatchery department of ACA Poultry. Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put others' needs before her own. She was happiest when she was spending time with family and friends. For years, she kept a diary of who would come visit her each day. She maintained a special bond with each of her friends and family members. She will be greatly missed by many. Mary Ann is survived by her two sons, Troy (Courtney) of New Minas; Todd (Theresa) of Upper Canard; five grandchildren Devin, Justin, Kelcy, Shawn-Tyler and Skylar; a sister Gloria (Boyd) Lockhart of New Minas; a brother Doug (Paige) of White Rock; her mother-in-law Verna Atwell; five sisters-in-law Connie Sheppard, Donna Miles, Janet Atwell-Mamay, Joan Mosher and Mary Mosher; a brother-in-law Dennis; several nieces and nephews. Mary Ann is also survived by her first great-grandson, Bo, who was born the day after she passed. She is predeceased by her husband and best friend, Gary Atwell; two brothers Malcolm Mosher and Laurie "Moe" Mosher. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr (902-679-2822). Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service at Mary Ann's request. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one's choice.
