Obituary of Gladys Alberta Burke

Gladys Alberta Burke, 90 of Charlottetown, PEI passed away peacefully at Park West Lodge, Wednesday December 14, 2016, where she received exceptional care and with her family by her side. Formerly from Kentville and Windsor, NS, she was the loving wife of the late Dale Frederick Burke and mother of Richard Harris (Berna) of Charlottetown and Victor Harris (Connie Brauer) of Falmouth, NS. Gladys is lovingly remembered by her children; grandchildren Cindy Harris (Patrick Dorsey); Lisa Dupuis (Brian); Emily Harris (Vince Gabriele); Philip Harris; William Harris (Essie Thompson), and seven great grandchildren Alice; Clara; Ruby; Logan; Kyle; Noah and Layla as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sisters-in-law, Valerie Newcombe and Kaye White. She was the last surviving sibling of 16 brothers and sisters. For many years, she was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Hants No. 9. She will be remembered for her enduring optimism and kindness, and wonderful sense of humor. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr (902-679-2822). There will be no visitation or funeral service as per request. Interment will take place in Windsor, NS, at a later date in the Spring. Family Flowers only.
