Obituary of Geraldine "Deen" Jane Landry

Geraldine "Deen" Jane Landry, 64 of Kentville/Petit-de-Grat. It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Geraldine "Deen" Landry on February 2, 2017 in the QEII in Halifax; surrounded by family, following an aggressive battle with leukemia. Born in Arichat, on Dec 19, 1052, she was the daughter of Jean Désiré (Jerry) and Alice (Dorey) Landry. She began her career as a medical clerk at the Halifax Infirmary and also as an accounting clerk in Fort McMurray. Deen enjoyed playing bingo and card games. She was very talented in many things especially crocheting and knitting. She enjoyed family gatherings, barbeques, music and dancing. She was a Mom to many, a remarkable person with a big heart and a wonderful soul. She will be sadly missed by her partner in life Stephen Myles; her daughter Amy (Richard); her three grandchildren Shawn, Abbie and Troy whom she cherished with all her heart; her step-children Matthew (Deanne); Meghan (Aaron) and Ashlin; step-grandchildren Austin, Carter, Allie, Adalie, Harlow and Alexandria; she is also survived by her mother Alice; brothers Allison (Gail); Ronnie (Diane); Ritchie (Jeanne); Gary (Carol) and Victor; sisters Janice (Gerry Davenport); Anne (Gunter List) and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Jerry. Sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the 8th floor and 3A ICU Unit of the QEII Centennial Hospital for their continued care and support, and a special thank you to Rev. David McGinley, Rev. Gray and Rev. Olsen for their prayers and spiritual guidance. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, Wolfville Chapel, 568 Main Street Wolfville (902-542-4656). Cremation has taken place. A visitation will take place on February 10, 2017 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. A Celebration of her life will be held on February 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Wolfville Chapel and another celebration will take place in Petit-de-Grat at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
