It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Charlene Annette McCullough on February 12, 2017 in Kentville at Shannex Orchard Court with family by her side. Mom was born in Westport, Brier Island on February 9, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Maxine (Welch) Swift. In 1963, Mom married our Father, Winston McCullough, and they resided on Brier Island for 37 years until they moved to Canaan, Kings County to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Throughout her life, Mom was an avid painter, and was involved in various art clubs and organizations. Mom would get many of her inspirations for her paintings from the landscapes on the back roads of the Annapolis valley that she and Dad enjoyed traveling. Mom also enjoyed searching the beaches for driftwood to turn into folk art. She loved spending time selling her art at Paints and Pots Creative Artists-Captain Hall's Treasure Chest in Halls Harbor and in Margretsville at the Art shack Mom is survied by, daughters Tanya McCullough,Shevaun (Brian ) Clelland; sons Darrell McCullough, Jody (Enza) McCullough; Grandchildren Kelsey, Hannah, Spencer and Abbigail; brother Ted (Frederick) Swift ; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mom was predeceased by her husband, Winston Spencer McCullough, her brother Roland Swift; father and mother- in- law Edmund and Doris McCullough; brother-in-law Franklin McCullough, Stephen McCullough. The family would like to thank all the staff at Shannax, Orchard Court for the wonderful care mom received and Mary Anne Elliot for always being there for us. Once again, we would also like to thank Darrell Anderson for his kindness at a diffcult time and a very special thank you to Bryan and Cheryl Theriau who were wonderful neighbours and friends to Mom and Dad, always there to lend a helping hand. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr (902-679-2822). Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Nova Scotia Division or the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia
