Obituary of Colonel William Sullivan

Colonel William Sullivan, 93 of Hassett passed away February 12, 2017 in Tideview Terrace with his family by his side. Born in Hilltown on February 9, 1924, he was the son of the late Timothy and Irene (Gavel) Sullivan. Most of his life, Colonel worked construction but had many hobbies and interests. He loved the outdoor life, such as hunting, fishing and even had trap lines. He also enjoyed building tractors and repairing guns for friends and neighbors. He also worked with steel and made knives for local mink ranches, as well as friends. As for many of his daughters and his wife he made wooden spoons. He is survived by son John (Josephine) Sullivan of Hilltown; daughters Juanita (Lovett) Bremner of New Brunswick; Maurina Haight of Acadiaville; Marion (Melvin) Manzer of Southville; Della (Larry) Amero of Plympton; Wanda Gaudett of Southville; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Brittian) Sullivan, sons Tony, Oakley and Stanley; daughters Beatrice and Judy; brother Willard and sisters Rita, Dora, Stella, Hilda and Frances. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902-679-2822). Visitation and Funeral Service are being held on Thursday February 23, 2017 at the Havelock Wesleyan Church, with visitation from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm and Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Havelock Wesleyan Church with Pastor Shawn Craven officiating. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Havelock Community Centre.
