Obituary of John Ambrose Wells

John Ambrose Wells, 74 of Berwick, formally of Avonport. John passed peacefully, surrounded by the compassionate staff of Grand View Manor on February 19, 2017. He was the son of Edward and Audrey (Dodge) Wells. John loved bowling, playing baseball, fishing, hunting (a real outdoorsman), socializing, spinning a tall tale, playing card games and yard sales. You could often find him in the orchards picking apples or other fresh produce then peddling it for miles getting referred to as the apple man in Stewiacke where he made many friends and had a few special deer stands. And his love of music and his quick wit were forever present to the end. He retired from Minas Basin Pulp and Paper after 25 years. He is survived by his sisters Maxine Crouse; Joyce (Garnet Grant); brother Terry; former wife Margaret (Peggy) Wile; daughter Kelley (Kris Lockhart); grandsons Cameron and Tanner; his loving aunts Jessie (Robert Wilson) and Freda; and due to a strong bond, he will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews. John requested no fuss be made of his death, to remember him with a smile. Honoring John's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. The family wish to thank and have memorial donations be made to the Grand View Manor, Berwick.
