A definite free spirit with a unique outlook on life, we should all try to have a little of ol' Lew in us! Back in the Anvil days his infectious laugh and roaring way he requested his next Schooner made many smile and lives as a happy memory within us.
Our sincere sympathy to his family, he was good person and we know you will all miss him.
As Lew would holler when the band played disco >>>> Play some @^&%* BLUES!
Respectfully,
Singy & Dorinda

Wow...so hard to believe of Lou's passing. I have a bag of memories from our friendship in the late 70's. There was never a dull moment around him that's for sure. Prayers of comfort to his family. Peace

It was a moment of reflection for me when I was told of Lew's passing There was some mixed emotion as we knew each other in the early 70's, and then again in the 80's from two separate points of view. However Lew always treated me the same from both which garnered my respect. I was always envious of his laughter and free wheeling spirit. May that always bring his loved ones peace and comfort. RIP Lew. Mac

Lew was unique. Rest in peace.
He and I were good friends at the end of the 1960's, when we both found ourselves as outcasts and outlaws. We went our separate ways, but were always cordial.

Lou,
You and I did a lot of traveling together in the early 70's. We took to the road in May of '70, playing guitars and just enjoying the world around us. We made the trek to Ontario twice. You showed me my first Bar chord on guitar and when I recorded my first song at AVR, you played guitar with me. Yes, we played a lot of good music together. We were known in the talent shows as Ross & Lew.."The Country Pals'! A lot of years have come and gone since that time. Life and it's surprises somehow put a large gap between us. I haven't seen you or talked with you in many years and this news of your passing finds me unprepared and a little lost; like a part of my identity is suddenly not here. I'm sure you're laying back right now with that fabulous glowing smile, picking your ol' guitar and singing loud and strong. Thank you for the memories my friend. Tell your Mom and Dad I miss them and think of them often. Till we meet again.
Your friend,
Ross

I counted Lou among my friends. Kind hearted, gentle soul. Rambunctious partier, lived with reckless abandonment (a compliment in my books). Please accept my condolences.

So sorry to hear of Llew's passing. He was a great friend for more years than I like to count and I have many memories of great times we spent together. He was the only person I knew when I first moved to Wolfville and he introduced me to everyone and made me feel at home. He will be missed, but I am so glad I had the opportunity to know him.

Sad to hear of Llew's death. While I haven't seen him for many years he created many memories for me when I worked at the Wagon Wheel back in early 70's. He was a free spirit and loved life. I am sure he will be sadly missed by his loved ones and friends. Take care
