Obituary of Laura May Tupper
Please share a memory of Laura to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Laura May Tupper, 83 formerly of Billtown passed away March 6, 2017 in Evergreen Home for Special Care. Born on the 23rd of May 1933, she was the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Emily Tupper.
Laura was a loyal and dedicated daughter and sister. She lived at home for most of her life with her parents and her brother David. She devoted her time and energy to helping out on the family farm. As a young woman, she worked many long hours in the family strawberry fields.
Laura always presented herself as "an individual" - one who stayed true to her ideals. Once her parents passed on, she managed the household together with her older brother, David. She worked for a brief time only, outside the home. Following that period of time Laura was subject to a variety of health issues, which involved many family doctor visits.
She was tireless in her efforts to participate in all family affairs, relating to wellness and financial management. As can be noted, Laura was very family orientated. The faith in the Lord that Laura had developed over the years was professed publicly by way of her baptism right here at the Billtown Baptist Church. When regular medical care was needed by Laura, she moved to the Evergreen Nursing Home in Kentville where she remained until age 83.
She will be fondly remembered and missed by her close friends and her only remaining family member, her brother David.
A Funeral Service will be held on March 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm, with a visitation before at 1:00 pm, in the Billtown Baptist Church, 742 Steadman Rd, Billtown, NS. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Billtown Baptist Church.
