Obituary of Nicholas "Nick" Ryan Hiltz

Nicholas "Nick" Ryan Hiltz of the Forties, NS It is with great sadness that we, the family of Nick Hiltz, announce his passing at home on March 10, 2017 after a long battle with depression. He was the son of the late Fern Irene (Olmstead) Hiltz and Francis Lester Hiltz (Emily), Forties Settlement. Nick was employed by Nova Millwright Michelin (Bridgewater division) for over eight years. He was known as the master fabricator who could make or build anything from cars to power saws to just about anything. He was a jack of all trades. He is survived by his common-law spouse of 17 years, Kimberly Oickle, Forties, NS; brothers Anthony (Norma), Chester; Tim (Twanna), Aylesford; Carter (Allyson), Bible Hill; several nieces and nephews; four great nieces and nephews; god daughter Ameila; ;special friends (you know who you are); also, his extended family including Michael, David, Tony, and Timothy (Vicky); and many friends who love and will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his mom Fern Hiltz and best friend Dave Cornelius. "Nick you will be always remembered for you sense of humor and caring loving nature – till we meet again, Love ya Babes" A celebration of his life will be held at the Forties Community Centre, Forties Road, New Ross on Monday March 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the IWK Children's Hospital, Halifax in Nick's memory. Interment will be held at a later date, this will be posted on the memorial page in memory of Nick Hiltz on facebook.
