Edward George Adams
January 12th, 1945 - March 14th, 2017
It is with great sadness that the family of Edward George Adams, age 72, of Deep Brook N.S, announce his passing on Tuesday, March 14th, 2017 at the Digby General Hospital.
Born in Digby N.S, he was the son of Arnold and Clara Adams. Edward was a long-term employee with the department of transportation in Digby. As a plow driver, then moving on to dispatch, where he retired at the age of 60 in 2005. He made a great deal of friends there, and will be greatly missed.
Edward enjoyed his springs, summers and autumns tending the garden with his family. Edward also loved the horse and ox hauls, and would attend every one that he possibly could. Seeing such beauty in the strength of these animals, especially the horses. He had spent many years loading the drags at the Digby County Exhibition and was a member on their committee. And of course, Edward made many friends there, and will be sadly missed.
Edward was a kind and patient man. One who'd do anything for those he loved, even when it wasn't easy for him. He loved to laugh and reminisce with his friends and family. He was an amazing man who made friends easily wherever he went. He loved his family, and was so proud of them.
Edward is survived by his wife, Jean; son Thomas, Digby; daughter, Trisha (Josh) Dugas, Deep Brook. He enjoyed talking to his grown grandchildren Brittany Weir, Digby; and Travis Hogan, New Brunswick. He also loved seeing the smile on his young grandchildren's faces when they played, Aries Dugas, and Charlie Dugas, Deep Brook. Edward is also survived by sisters Marianne Adams, Landsdowne; and Valerie (Fred) Bigelow, Lansdowne; and several nieces and nephews. All who cared for him very much.
Edward was predeceased by his parents Arnold and Clara Adams of Landsdowne.
A memorial service will take place at the Smith's Cove Baptist Church on Saturday, March 25th, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Funeral Reception to be held at 3:00 pm downstairs. Immediate family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward's honor to organizations that meant a lot to Edward and his family, The Digby County Exhibition, The Smith's Cove Baptist Church, The Canadian Cancer Society, The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
