Obituary of Rebecca Ann Crouse

Please share a memory of Rebecca to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rebecca Ann Crouse 56, of New Minas passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in the Valley Regional Hospital with her loving husband by her side. Born in Wolfville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Estell (Smith) Crouse. Rebecca was an amazingly strong and independent woman whose large personality and zest for life resulted in many adventures and a wide circle of friends. Her strong debating skills made for many lively conversations with friends or strangers, but especially her regular Tim Hortons friends. She was a devoted mother and was proud to be a stay at home mom when sons were young. Rebecca enjoyed travelling, writing poetry and acting with a local theatre group and of course searching for designer bargains at Frenchy's. Rebecca's fondest memory was a "close encounter" with Donny Osmond, meeting Prince Andrew, and several David Bowie concerts. She is survived by husband Robert Bower; sons Alexander and Nicholas Crouse-Bower; sisters Pam and Belinda (Kevin); nieces Amelia (Richard) Kirk and Kacey Pudsey; nephews Jacob and Evan Crouse-Schofield and Kitrick Pudsey. Rebecca, no one will fill your place, in life we loved you dearly, you will never be forgotten. A Celebration of Life will take place on May 27, 2017 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Garden room at Acadia Irving Building. In lieu of flowers, donation in memory may be made to the Cancer Patient Navigator Fund at the Valley Regional Hospital or the Red Cross Centre (10 Pelton Dr., Kentville, NS B4N 3V7). Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902- 679-2822). ************ The following is a poem writen by Rebecca Crouse Willful Surrender Crawling from within myself Searching for the essence of my self Beaten down by life with life Battered beyond my own recognition I hear the voice Whispering my name Calling to my soul Forgive yesterday Accept this day as given And fight for the tomorrow you can imagine Rebirth from the sorrow Sprouting wings born from the pain Forged in stillness Now fully formed in the wonderment That I am still here I listened, breathing Bleeding new life And as I lay down before myself In willful surrender to all that I have been All that I am And all that I will become I can finally rest Trusting in myself
