Obituary of Theresa Gloria Walsh

Please share a memory of Theresa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Theresa Gloria Walsh of New Minas, passed away on Sunday May 28, 2017 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Montreal, she was the daughter of Anthony and Mary-Jane (Hall) Walsh. She was a dedicated member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Theresa was a wonderful daughter to mom and dad, a friend, an aunt (Alex and Ben), a cousin, a niece, a grand-daughter, a sister-in-law to Alice (Daniel) and Paul (Catherine), and a beautiful sister to Michael, Daniel and Catherine. She was thoughtful, very creative, and filled with adventure, especially when it came to my sons, Alex and Ben. "Shall we go for a dip in the pond boys?" She wasn't just an aunt, she was AUNTIE! My sister always put her best effort into whatever she wanted to do. From gardening to planning a "Three Under the Sea" birthday party, to organizing library socials and church functions. She allowed her creative ability to flow and wanted all to enjoy as she did. Theresa enjoyed listening to the sweet sounds of the singing birds. She was a nature lover. Walking in nature and exploring the pond creatures would always brighten her day. She loved the ocean. She could drive for miles. Yes, she ended up on different roads because of her taking a wrong turn, but she would always make the best of it and would end up discovering some new out-of-the-way destination. Just recently Theresa was presented with her Library and Information Technology Diploma (with honors) as well as she was privileged with having the AVC Sustainability Award renamed to the Theresa Walsh AVC Sustainability Student Award. Those who were present when this happened know exactly how thrilled she was to have this privilege bestowed upon her. She suffered much, but she kept moving forward. As I was sending out e-mails, per her request, so many people wrote back and shared with me how Theresa touched their lives. Many people also shared how they were praying for her to get better. This, we so very much wanted to happen. A friend of mine, when offering her condolences, said this, "God has not said no to our prayers for healing He has said I have something better." And yes, knowing that my beloved sister is finally at peace helps, but it sure doesn't heal the hole that is left in my heart. Theresa will be greatly missed. Cherishing the wonderful times that we shared with her will help us all. We will miss her laughter, but in time those tears of sadness will turn into tears of joy because we will remember her smile. We love you, T. Theresa is survived by her parents; brothers Michael Walsh; Daniel (Alice) Walsh; sister Catherine (Paul) Walker; nephews Alex Walker; Ben Walker; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by grandparents Joseph B. and May Walsh; Anthony and Marie Jeanne Hall; several aunts and uncles. A visitation will take place on May 31, 2017 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
