Obituary of Leona Viola Margaret Rushton

Leona Viola Margaret (Fiddes) Rushton, 73 of Masstown passed away peacefully in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre on the morning of July 18, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Leona was a woman that was always on the go, be it a shopping trip, out for Friday suppers with friends, going to bingo, yard sales or simply cheering on her beloved Toronto Blue Jays. Nobody could yell at a ball game quite like her. She was a woman of great strength, who will be incredibly missed by family, friends and the multitude of her Zellers co-workers and friends. She is survived by her husband Hilton of Masstown; daughters Sandra (Ian) Forbes of Masstown; Ginny (Dave) Buchanan of Bible Hill; brothers Gerry of Great Village; Leonard of Ontario; Perry of Ontario; sisters Margie of Truro; Susan of Truro; and three amazing grandchildren Madison (Mitchell) of Lower Truro; Cody and Rylee, both of Bible Hill. Leona was predeceased by her parents Elsie Fiddes of Ontario and Donald Fiddes of Truro; sisters Diane McCandless of Ontario and Arlene Fiddes of Ontario. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 29, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Faith Baptist Church in Great Village. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the NS Heart & Stroke Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902-679-2822).
