Obituary of Doris Margaret Best

BEST, Doris Margaret; Somerset With family by her side, Doris passed away in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville NS on Saturday August 5, 2017, five days prior to her 83rd birthday. Born in Berwick, NS, Doris was the only child of the late Ruby (Parrish, Aalders, Young) and the late Arnold Aalders. She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Harold (Buster) Best. Doris will be sadly missed by their four children; Gary (Lynn) South Berwick NS; Gail (Michael Walsh) Rockland NS; Rhonda, Somerset; Heather, Ottawa ON. She was the cherished grandmother, and will be greatly missed by Jason, of whom she always held an extra special place in her heart from the day he was born, to their final goodbye on her day of passing, as well as, Lisa, Candice, Anita, Jeffrey, and Ryan, all of whom she loved to share her favorite sayings and her love of laughter, treats, and music. Doris was also great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren. In 1953, Doris graduated from Mack Business College. She was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church, and a former member of their choir. During her retirement years, she loved being at her summer home, enjoying the panoramic views of the beautiful Bay of Fundy. Doris devoted her life to her family, and her quick wit and sense of humor will be fondly missed by all her knew her. No Visitation by request. Funeral service will be held Wednesday August 9, 2017, 1pm at Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Commercial Street, Berwick NS In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berwick Baptist Church, or the Lung Association of NS. .
