Obituary of Elva Madge Williams

It is with great sadness that the family of Elva Madge Williams, 82 of Wolfville, NS. announce her passing on Thursday, November 23, 2017 in the Wolfville Nursing Home where she had resided for the past 13 years. Born on May 25, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Basil Smith and Emily (Schofield) Smith. Elva will be forever remembered for her love of scarves. Her favourite ones were very colourful and vibrant to match her personality. Elva, in her earlier years had worked at Haze's Lunch in Kentville and later at the Sunnyside Restaurant in Bedford, NS. Elva is survived by her sons Don (Dawn) Welton; Charles (Kim) Welton; Bill (Tina) Welton; grandchildren Emily and Abby Welton; Crystal (Steven) Haggerty; Joseph and Mackenzie Welton; great grandson Byron (Alisha Kelly) Burton; two great, great-grandchildren Linden and Lillee-Mae; four sisters Berneda (James) Harvey, New Minas; Gwendolyn Harvey, Kentville; Ella (Dave) Rankine, Peterborough, Ontario; Ellen (Jack) Bennett, Orleans, Ontario; sister-in-law Cheryl Smith, Melanson and several nieces and nephews. Elva was predeceased by her husband Gerald Williams and brother Alex Smith. The family of the late Elva Madge Williams would like to take this opportunity to thank her retired family doctor Dr. Phillips and her current doctor Dr. Burton and all of the wonderful staff at the Wolfville Nursing Home for the great care and compassion they have shown to Elva over the years she had resided there. A Funeral Service will be held on November 30, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Wolfville Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Manthorne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Canada.
