John "Dave" David Coldwell, 84 of Avonport, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2017 surrounded by family in the Valley Regional Hospital.
Born September 2, 1933, in Avonport, Dave worked for Pyramid Structural Concrete in Bedford NS from 1966 to 1978. He then went to work at Strescon Ltd. Pre-Cast Concrete in 1978 working throughout the Atlantic Provinces until he retired in 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; five sisters Beta Jordan of Newtonville; Eudora (Joseph) Patterson of Windsor; Dorothy (Allan) Lowthers of Kentville; Annie Bird of Hantsport; Lolita Crosby of Avonport; step-son Bernard (Esther) Webster of Berwick; grandchildren Darren Webster of Ottawa, ON; Mike (Louise) Webster of New Minas; Darcy (Tomoka) Webster of Saint John, NB.
He was predeceased by his two brothers, William and Charles, both of Avonport.
Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Service will be held on January 4, 2018 at 10:00 am in the Wolfville Funeral Chaple with Rev. Gary Manthorne to officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes Canada. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Wolfville Funeral Chapel, 568 Main Street Wolfville (902-542-4656).
