I am sending these condolences for my Mother, Mrs. Patricia Richey of Middle Sackville Nova Scotia.
It was with great sadness that I read of the passing of Gladdie. I became a client of Gladdie's after moving to Middle Sackville in 1974. I continued to visit Gladdie for over 40 years until she retired. I still haven't found a good hairdresser or a more friendly environment. Tea and snacks were always available as were visits with her family. It was a sad time when she lost her beloved Garry. I have missed getting my hair "done" with her and am sad that there will be no more visits. Rest in Peace my dear friend and enjoy your time dancing with Garry. Your old client/friend Pat. (Richey)

Dear Joanne, Teresa, Glenn and Vernon
I want you to know that we will never forget our sparky little Auntie "Happy Bum". She was always so good natured (as was Uncle Garry). When I was about 14, Uncle Garry told me Auntie Gladys would give me a nice haircut like that guy. He was pointing at a young cadet. I never bothered her to cut my hair when she was on vacation in Fort Langley because I really did not want a "cadet cut". Please know that if you ever find your way to sunny Penticton, BC, you will have a warm welcome and a place to stay. With love and very fond memories,
Sandy

So sorry to hear about Gladdy. Since moving back to Newfoundland, 18 years ago, I have thought about her often, and wondered how she was doing. It makes me sad to know that she has passed. I have many fond memories of working with her in her Salon. She was a very kind and sweet lady with a lot of spunk! Lol! I will never forget her. My condolences to her family. With love from Verlie in Newfoundland.

My heartfelt condolences to Gladys' family!
Glady examined many of our students at Breton Beauty College in Sydney and we were always happy to see her as we knew she would be fair and always had the best interest of the students at heart. She would try and put them at ease with a smile or word of encouragement.
Rest in Peace, good and faithful servant!

Cudos to whom ever wrote this obituary, every word was SO Gladdy. I worked and travelled with her for years, she was one strong woman, I loved her dearly. She would get us in trouble all the time, she would have me in tears of laughter.
She will be missed, my sympathies to the family she loved so dearly.

I am so sorry to learn of Gladys' passing. I worked with Gladys as a member of the Examination Committee and enjoyed many hours of her company. She loved to travel to the different schools, and it was obvious from minute one there that every student had a friend in Gladys. She will be greatly missed by many hairdressers because of her smile and kind words to everyone.

Deepest sympathies on the passing of Gladdie. She was my first hair dresser as a child and loved going to her. My Nanny (Violet Patriquin) would get her hair done and Gladdie would let us sit in the empty chairs or the dryers and pretend we were getting ours done. Such a lovely woman full of spirit and pure kindness.
