Obituary of Michael Henry Karklins

Michael Henry Karklins, age 62 of Halifax, passed away March 17, 2018 in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Sarnia, ON., he was the son of the late Paul Karklins and Marie Robertson. Mike was an extremely respected and knowledgeable licensed real estate agent since 1983. He was a partner at Harbourside Realty and licensed realtor at City Realty. He was married on February 14, 1986, to Gail Gardiner, the love of his life. He enjoyed hiking, reading, sailboarding, soccer, sailing, raising his dogs, swimming, pottery and so much more. His favorite pastime was watching his sons at sports and grandchildren at play. He is survived by his wife, Gail Gardiner; sons Sam and Chris Karklins; grandchildren Jaxson and Nixx Karklins; and dog Lexington. His Celebration of Life will be held from 2:30 – 5:00 pm on March 25, 2018 in the Armdale Yacht Club. Special appreciation to Suzanne Bowser Kapsalis and Alex Astbury for arranging the celebration of life and to the first responders, the Dartmouth Emergency and the Dartmouth/Halifax ICU staff for supporting Mike and his family through this difficult time. In usual fashion he wanted to help out others even after passing through the organ donation program.
