Obituary of Blanche Marion Chase

Blanche Marion (Barry) Chase, 88 of Wolfville passed away April 10, 2018 in Blomindon Court, Shannex. Born August 4, 1929, she was the daughter of Ralph William Wallace and Stella Georgina Barry of Maitland, Lunenburg Co., NS. She attended school, went to church regularly, even taught Sunday School for a few years. Then she went to work in a garage for one summer, until she made a move up to the Valley where she worked in a Dry-Cleaning Company. Blanche was called to go to work in a hotel for a summer. From there, she was given opportunity to work in Sydney at a small restaurant, London Grill. She worked there for three years. She returned to the Valley and was able to slip back into her position with laundry company, Blanche worked there for the next ten years. She then found someone to settle down with, she found much happiness in her new home with her new husband. Blanche helped her husband, Ralph, on everything they did; on the garbage truck, on the wood pile, loaded the trucks of garbage, wood, etc. She even looked after her mother for years. They lost their home in two fires. The rebuild to life started by buying a new home, mother came back to live with her for the final three years of her life. Blanche then opened her door for her brother Gerald and looked after him until his death. "Enjoying life to the fullest, until age slows us down… and it's starting now." Blanche is survived by her brothers Herbert, Dwight; sister Elsie MacDonald of McBride, BC; cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband Ralph; sister Bertha; brothers Emery, Gerald and baby Barry in infancy. A visitation will take place on April 13, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on April 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Berwick Funeral Chapel. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or local chapter of the S.P.C.A.
