Shannon "Shay" Marie Graves. Shay was born October 4, 1981 and was presently living in Kentville. She passed away quite suddenly of a short battle with meningitis on April 26, 2018. Shay was a unique and lively spirit who knew what she wanted from life and went for it. She was a Bass Clarinet player and had a great love of classical music. She had received two degrees from Acadia University, a BM in Performance and Music Therapy. She became a registered Music Therapist after completing her internship in Regina. Shay had many great travels around Canada as well as lived for a while traveling around Australia. She had a great love of nature and always tried to do the best for our planet. She brought light and love to all that knew her. Shay had a generous and giving spirit that touched so many through her short life and will continue to do so in death as she was an organ donor. Shay leaves behind her spouse and love of her life, Trevor MacKay of Berwick; their two cats Jambo and Oscar; parents Joanne Graves and Phillip Graves; brother Stewart; sister Candice, best friend Jade Johnson, and many uncles, aunts and cousins. A Musical Celebration of Shay's Life will be held on Thursday May 10, 2018 starting at 2:00pm at the Wolfville Farmers Market, musicians are welcome to bring instruments for a jam in Shays honour. Memorial donations may be made to the family, Trevor MacKay (mackaytrev@gmail.com) to assist her loved ones pay for funeral expenses. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902-679-2822).
