Obituary of Michael Joseph D'Ambrose

Michael "Mike" Joseph D'Ambrose, 69 of Brighton, Digby County

It is with heavy hearts we, the D'Ambrose family, announce Mike's passing at the Digby General Hospital, family by his side, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Mike was a hard worker who began working full time at the early age of 15. He spent the majority of his working years as a foreman at a local fish plant in Digby. Never short on conversation, Mike always had time for a chat or story telling amongst co-workers, family and friends. His real passion however, was the outdoors. Hunting and fishing with his brothers and close friends was the source of many of his best memories. If he wasn't hunting or fishing, he was talking about it. Although too short, Mike also enjoyed every minute of his retirement, spending quality time with his grandchildren and extended family.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Lorraine (Germaine), sons Michael (Heather); Mark (Penny); grandchildren Sierra; Evangelia; Christian and Zoe; brothers Malcolm (Cheryl), Martin (Wendy), Myles (Valerie); sisters Mildred (Austin) Denton, Michelle (Danny) Emin; brother-in-law Wayne (Brenda) Germaine, several nieces and nephews.

Michael was predeceased by father Reginald; mother Hilda; brother Murray; sister Margaret.

A Funeral Service will be held on May 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Digby Royal Canadian Legion Branch #20. Memorial donations may be made to the I.W.K or charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902-679-2822).
