Obituary of David Leslie Misener

David Misener, 81 of Wolfville passed on May 17, 2018 in the Valley Regional hospital after a brave battle with cancer. He maintained strong friendships with a great group of old friends from Port Wallace and loved to tell stories about growing up there. David was a dedicated professor at Acadia University for most of his career. He was the first Dean of the School of Business Administration and started the Acadia Centre for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He was an avid Acadia Axeman hockey enthusiast and always had season tickets. When he retired, he and Joan spent many wonderful winters in Florida. He is survived by wife, Joan, to whom he was a wonderful husband for almost 55 years. And, his children, Cindy, Halifax, and Trent, Edmonton, who were very lucky to have such a great Dad. He is also survived by his sister, Joan MacLeod, and niece, Janice Misener and nephew, Randy Misener. David was born in Port Wallace to the late HL and Marjorie Misener and was predeceased by brothers Carl and Bob. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Medical A at the Valley Regional hospital and to the many family friends who helped along the way. A visitation will take place on Tuesday May 22 , 2018 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the Wolfville Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Acadia University Chapel, with reception to follow in the Wolfville Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
