Obituary of Minnie Florence Hamilton

Minnie Florence Hamilton, 78 of Berwick  went to be with her Saviour on Thursday May 24th 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving husband and many family members. Minnie was born at Brooklyn Corner on June 5, 1939 and was the daughter of George Cogswell and Stella (Corkum) Cogswell.

Minnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, homemaker and friend; who devoted her life to her family, her church and her many friends. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid supporter of the many activities of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a devoted member of her church and always ready to lend a helping hand with whatever task needed doing.

She is survived by her loving husband Warren; daughters Wendy (Ron) of Sherbrooke; Leslie Hamilton of Waterville; son John (Nancy) Sherman of Steam Mill; five grandchildren Amy, Christy, Brian, Naaman and Theo; great granddaughter Bailey; many adoring nieces and nephews; sisters Virginia Nicholson of Halifax; Margie (Jack) Nicholson of  Tatamagouche; Janetta (Bob) Busk of Great Village; Georgie Cogswell of Smiths Falls, ON; Linda (Cecil) Swinamer of Western Shore; Kathy (Ian) Duggan of Meragomish; Karen (Blaine) North of Canning; Valerie (Bruce) Viner of Pereau; Crystal Cogswell of Weston; brothers Lloyd (Cindy) Cogswell of Canning; Joe (Sylvia) Cogswell of Black Rock; Donald (Diane) Arenburg of Tupper Lake; David (Lorenda) Arenburg of Blue Mountain; sister-in-laws Glenna Coleman of Berwick; Louise Anderson of Newelton; Janise Hansler of Ontario; Carolyn (Steve) Acker of Jordan Bay;  Beverly (Terry) of Demings of Birchtown; brother-in-laws Philip Hamilton of Birchtown; Ronald (Barb) Hamilton of Birchtown and Bill Keddy of Ontario;.

Minnie was predeceased by sister-in-laws Onita Keddy of Ontario; Helen Hamilton of Welsford; Violet Hamilton of Carlton Village; brother-in-laws Victor Hamilton of Welsford; Alan Anderson of Newelton; Harold Hansler of Ontario; George Coleman of Steam Mill and Arthur Nicholson of Timberlea.

A visitation will take place on May 29, 2018 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm in the Berwick Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held May 30, 2018, 2:00 pm at Weston Christian Fellowship, 3611 Brooklyn Street, Berwick, Minnie's son-in-law Rev. Ron Ford officiating. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Charity of One’s Choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Berwick Funeral Chapel, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick, NS, B0P 1E0 (902-538-9900).
