Obituary of Allen Leslie Blair

Allen Blair, 63 passed away on June 19, 2018 in Evergreen Home for Special Care. He was born in Wolfville, the son of Marie Atwell and the late John Blair. Allen enjoyed helping others. He was well known in Wolfville for keeping the lawns trimmed, riding around town on his John Deere. It was not uncommon to see him driving to church on his Deere. Allen spent many years volunteering at the Wolfville School, monitoring the kids on their breaks. In his later years, at Evergreen, he had a passion for fishing, only ever keeping one for himself and giving any others to his friends. One of the greatest moments in his life is when he became a grandfather of a beautiful granddaughter, Loretta; she was his pride and joy. He is survived by his loving daughter Clea (Malcom Davidson) Blair; brothers Buddy (Genie) of Gaspereau; Randy (Kelly) of Bridgewater; sisters Marlene (Brian) Orford of New Minas; Valarie (Harold) Conway of West Brooklyn; Kathy (Ronnie) Hatt of Kentville; Roxanne (Fred) Phillips of Wolfville; Doreen Bennett of Sheffield Mills; Joanne Adams of Ontario; granddaughter Loretta Davidson and many nieces and nephews. Besides his father John, Allen was predeceased by all of his aunts and uncles; brothers-in-law Russell Bennett and William Adams. A visitation will take place on July 3, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service held at 2:00 pm in the Wolfville Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gary Manthorne. There will be a potluck reception following the service. Memorial donations may be made to the family, Diabetes Canada, Evergreen Home for Special Care or charity of one's choice.
