Obituary of Margaret Elaine Stark

On August 30, 2018, Margaret Elaine (Thurber) Glavin Stark  left this world to be with her Lord and Saviour.

Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her children, Craig (Kathleen) Glavin and Katherine (Don) Large as well as her step-children Clyde (Karla) Stark, Alana Graham and Nicole (Aaron) Titus.  Margaret will be remembered as a wonderful Grammie by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nick Glavin, Jenna (Justin) Gaudett, Charlotte, Parker and Maxwell Large, Caleb and Wyatt Stark, Jillian (Steve) Graham, Devon and Molly (Mike) Graham, Mallory (Chris) Chute, Faith and Hayden Titus, Lincoln, Craig and Lewis Gaudett, Liam and Cane Graham, Cecila Graham, Lincoln Graham and Cooper Chute. Margaret will be sadly missed by her sisters Marilyn Welch and Joanne (Eric) Morris, several nieces and nephews and dear friends Sylvia Lent and Jim Williams.

She was predeceased by her parents Parker and Anna (Churchill) Thurber, her husbands Charles Glavin and Gregory Stark and her son Steve Glavin.

Margaret was a member of the Westport Church of Christ, fulfilling the roles of clerk and Sunday School Teacher for many years and a member of St. James Anglican Church, Kentville in her last years.  Margaret served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Westport Recreation Fire Hall for ten years, as Secretary/Treasurer of the Westport Fire Department for fifteen years.  Margaret worked at R. E. Robicheau Ltd as a clerk, at D. B. Kenny Fisheries as accounts payable clerk, and at the Brier Island Lodge as front desk clerk.

A Memorial Service in memory of Margaret will be held on ­­­­­­­­­­Saturday September 8, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the St. James Anglican Church, Kentville.  Also, a memorial service and burial service will be held on Sunday September 9, 2018 at 2:30 pm in the Westport Church of Christ, Westport. Memorial donations may be made to the Westport Church of Christ or St. James Anglican Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Digby, B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
