Obituary of Elizabeth "Betty" Margaret Crossman

It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth “Betty” Margaret (Goodwin) Crossman, of Belleisle, NS, announces her passing on Wednesday, September 26th in the Valley Regional Hospital. Betty was born December 5th, 1928 in Baie Verte, NB to John D. Goodwin and Margaret Fraser.

Betty married Ronald Crossman and raised six daughters in their Amherst, Nova Scotia home. She enjoyed creating and sharing her knitting and sewing and will be remembered for the delicious meals and treats she prepared for her family over many years. She enjoyed spending her summers at Dunromin Campground and eventually made her home near this treasured campground with her daughter, Sheryl and family. She also enjoyed spending her evenings square dancing throughout Annapolis County. Above all, she loved visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters: Susan (William) Blakeney of Amherst, NS; Sandra (Gary) Vernon of Amherst, NS; Sharon (Ralph) LeBlanc of Brookdale, NS; Sheila Crossman (Donnie Chapman) of Coburg,ova NB; Shelley Crossman (Rick Hunter) of Amherst, NS; and Sheryl (Larry) Cranton of Belleisle, NS and her sister, Elsie Pollock of Peterborough, ON. She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents John and Margaret; siblings Amos Goodwin, Vernon Goodwin, and Shirley Chrysler; as well as grandson Danny Vernon; and great-grandson Johnathan Wilkie.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers and hospital staff at the Valley Regional Hospital.
