Obituary of Ronald Lawson Croft

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ronald Lawson Croft, 76 of Delhaven, passed away December 19, 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Lawson and Alice Croft, Delhaven, NS.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anna (Baltzer); daughter Amanda Laura; grandchildren Isaac and Veronica; sisters Marjorie, Paulette; nephews Paul, Richard, Arnold and Bernard; nieces Stella, Idella, Doris and Sheri.

Due to his father’s illness, he had to take over family responsibilities and began working at the age of 14 with his brothers Ivan and Malcolm.  This is where he learned his carpentry trade.  He continued working with his brother Ivan until Ivan retired.  He worked for Charlie Cogswell building houses; Laurie Harrison Ltd. and the town of Kentville, until his retirement. His favorite saying was, “Jack of all trades, master of none. Difficult jobs done immediately, impossible ones took a little longer.”

Ronald enjoyed going to jam sessions and variety shows.  He loved watching hockey and cheering on his favorite team the Pittsburg Penguins.  His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his grandson, Isaac, who was his pride and joy.  His family was everything to him and he touched the hearts of every one he met.  He will be truly missed.

Ronald was absolutely in love with his wife, Anna, who he spent 27 years.  They relished in the time they spent going out to bingo and hockey games. He also enjoyed going to the Big Stop with his daughter and grandson every chance he could.

Besides his parents, Ronald was predeceased by sisters Grace and Shirley; brothers Malcolm, Ivan and Donnie; nephew Randall.

A Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
