Obituary of Edward Albert Bland
Edward Albert Bland, age 82, of Martock, Hants Co., passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in Hants Community Hospital in Windsor, surrounded by his children. Born May 31, 1936 in Toronto, Ont., he was a son of Frederick and Harriett Bland.
Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ed loved spending time with family and friends, he especially loved outdoor activities with his sons, grandsons and buddies. He loved woodworking, "puttering" and staying busy. He also loved dancing and telling a good yarn.
Ed had an amazing career with the Royal Canadian Navy and had many stories of adventures. After the navy, he was an instructor at the Damage Control School and also was commanding officer of RCSCC in Windsor.
Survived by his children, Rob (Kim) Bland, New Glascow; Janet (Joseph) Smith, Bedford; Scott (Kim), Edmonton, Alta.; Allan, Windsor; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and brother, Robert Bland.
He was predeceased by his wife and love of his life, Joan and by sister, Shirley Renaud.
