Obituary of Roy Gerald Reeves

Roy Gerald Reeves, 89 of the Forties, New Ross, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2019 in the South Shore Regional Hospital. Born in New Ross, he was the son of the late Clarence Morton and Viola (Bezanson) Reeves.

He worked as a woodsman and Christmas tree farmer in New Ross all of his life. He loved the outdoors as well as hunting and fishing. Roy was an avid trapper and he was member of the Trappers Association.  He also enjoyed watching horse and ox pulls at the local fairs.  He was interested in his community and was a previous member of the New Ross Fire Department.

Roy loved making conversation with people and telling stories.  His favorite saying was “Like I Say”.  A few other things he enjoyed was reading, playing cards and making barrels.

Roy is survived by his brother Marshall Reeves of New Ross; and nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother Donald and sister Pauline.

A visitation will take place on January 15, 2019 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the New Ross Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on January 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Christ Anglican Church, New Ross. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the New Ross Fire Dept. or Christ Anglican Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home New Ross Funeral Chapel, 4935 Hwy #12, New Ross, B0J 2M0 (902-689-2961).
