Obituary of Lena Agnes McLean

Lena Agnes (Kinsman) McLean, 99 of Kentville  passed away on February 4, 2019 in the Orchard Court (Shannex) Nursing Home.  The daughter of the late Fred and Nora (Cashman) Wagstaff.

Lena had most of her schooling in Harbourville School. She graduated as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Nova Scotia Sanitorium, Kentville and was employed there until taking a position at Grand View Manor for ten years.  She was a life member of the Trinity United Church, Waterville and a life member of Evangeline Chapter 15 Eastern Star.

She is survived by her loving family, daughter Ardyth (late Albert) Rose, Sackville, NB; Margie (Brad) Woodworth, Mount Uniacke; step-daughter Diane (Donald) Clarke, Berwick; former daughter-in-law Helen (Kinsman) Ward, Kentville; sister Charlotte Keddy, Aylesford; sister-in-law Grace (Bill) Durante, Oromocto, NB; also many nieces and nephews.  She was a caring Grammie Tin Tin and Nan to Timothy, John and Andrew Rose, Geoffrey and Craig Woodworth, Sherry Benjamin and Shelly Kinsman; step-grandchildren Jillian Pick and Matthew Clarke; twelve great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Harold Kinsman in 1963; second husband Frederick McLean in 2002; son Arzy Kinsman in 1973; grandson Stephen Kinsman; brothers Kenneth, Harry, Lawrence and Howard; sisters Margaret and Shirley; three half-sisters Etta, Frances and Ethel; brother-in-law Bill Kinsman; and step-daughter Wanda McLean.

At Lena’s request, there will be no visitation.  A Graveside Service will take place in the Berwick Cemetery in the Spring. Memorial donations, in Lena’s memory, may be made to the Trinity United Church, Waterville, Recreation Dept. at Shannex Nursing Home (155 River St, Kentville, NS, B4N 1G8) or charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
